SZIGET festival
The Sziget Festival is a musical and cultural festival in Hungary. It’s one of the biggest musical festivals in Europe. Also known as the “Island of Freedom,” on which their concepts and main philosophy are founded.
My design rests on that same idea. I decided to create a dynamic, somehow fluid, kind of visual identity. The logotype consists of one static basic form, which would shift with another set of letters, created especially for each year.
The Sziget festival is located on an island—Obuda Island in Budapest. Every variation of the logotype creates a small island beneath, holding the type, which also changes with the form, and giving it a sense of freedom itself, representing diversity and variety.
